Plants are at the foundation of complex life on Earth. They are crucial for addressing the emerging challenges of a changing world, including the intensification of cropping systems, protection of biodiversity, and adaptation and mitigation of climate change.

The Center for Plant Sciences (CPS) at the School of Advanced Studies Sant'Anna.is committed to conducting advanced research to develop more resilient and sustainable primary production systems. The center focuses on a wide range of plant-related topics, including plant development, physiology, molecular biology, genomics, plant biotechnology, and more. The CPS works on interdisciplinary projects aimed at improving understanding of plants and developing innovative solutions, collaborating with other national and international research institutions.

Its mission also includes education and dissemination of plant sciences to address global challenges and promote plant biodiversity and health.
