The LEGITA Project presented at FSD8-2025

Presentation of the project results at the 8th International Farming System Design Conference

During the 8th International Farming System Design Conference, held in Palaiseau (France) from August 26 to 29, 2025, some results of the LEGITA project were presented. Dr. Daniel Marusig gave a short presentation entitled “Expanding Chickpea Cultivation Area Towards Northern Italy: Effects on Yield and Yield Stability.” The research explored ways to improve chickpea productivity through the selection of varieties with more stable yields in Friuli Venezia Giulia and Tuscany. Field trials conducted in Udine and Pisa were complemented by future predictive scenarios on chickpea production in response to climate change. The presentation was enthusiastically received by the audience, who expressed strong interest in the experimental approach adopted in the project.
